To our Boston Community,
Thank you for the support and thoughtful check-ins from our neighbors and fellow small business owners. Out of care and in collaboration with our communities big and small, we have temporarily closed all operations, shows, workshops and classes at our home, The Rozzie Square Theater. Not an easy decision, but necessary to protect our community and do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
We recognize the important role this space plays in the lives of many, which was our full intention when we built The Rozzie Square Theater. As such, we will work to reopen our doors as quickly and responsibly as possible. Until then, will remain singularly focused on the health and well-being of our teammates and dialing into what our community needs. We are grateful for your patience in this unprecedented time.
Here is what we're doing:
We are cancelling the upcoming ComedySportz matches on March 20,21 and 29,30. We will reassess in April what our show and workshop calendar looks like. Updates will be made via email and social media
We will honor all ticket purchases, giving options to exchange to a later date, get a refund, or be put as account credit. More details will be sent to those fans individually
We have cancelled the Level 1: Introductory to Improv course. We hope to resume with the beginning of our summer session starting in May
We’ll be cleaning and sanitizing the theater and updating cleaning protocols
How you can help:
As you can imagine, the business and offerings that sustained our theater - ComedySportz shows, public workshops, free drop-ins, corporate improv training, and teambuilding workshops, drop in improv and performing groups, community-hosted events - stopped nearly overnight.
Beyond monetary devastation, this is truly our favorite thing to do - bring laughs and collaboration to others, and have a home to call our own that people feel included and valued in.
We now proceed with extreme caution, to preserve what we've built these past 6 years while moving forward one step at a time.
If you are active on Yelp! or Google reviews, a positive review goes miles with our team - to know and be reminded of the open arms waiting for us when we all emerge. You can do that here on Google or here on Yelp!
If you know someone whose team or company would benefit from a video consultation or virtual training using improv for their business, tell them that we do that, send them our way.
If you plan to stick with us and see shows when we re-open, consider purchasing a gift card for yourself or friends/family.
If you are excited about taking improv classes, consider putting a deposit down for a future Level 1: Introduction to Improv course.
If you just want to email us and let us know how you're doing or share some kind or positive words - we absolutely won’t turn those down and would love to hear how you’re doing.
Of course, this is not the End.
In the days and weeks ahead, we will continue to foster the Boston community as we work hard on our future offerings and upcoming events, and hope to offer some exciting things in the interim. Our Annual East Coast All-Star Weekend is still on for May 15-16. Improv Summer sessions Level 1 are scheduled to begin May 13th. We are hopeful.
